‘Global Funds’ Allocated $280m for HIV, TB, Malaria Prevention in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: The Global Fund has allocated more than 280 million dollars for HIV, TB, and Malaria in Pakistan. 

Officials said that the Global Fund had informed the Federal Ministry of Health by writing a letter that around 65 million dollars will be provided for the prevention and treatment of HIV/AIDS, and 18 million dollars will be given to Pakistan for the prevention and treatment of TB. 

Funds to be used between 2024-2026

Officials said that about three and a half million dollars would be given to Pakistan for the prevention and treatment of malaria. Funds allocated for TB, malaria and HIV will be used between 2024 to 2026. It is important to mention that all three diseases are on the rise in Pakistan, and according to the World Health Organization (WHO), Pakistan has come forth in terms of TB patients.
