On the previous day, the major surge was due to the increase in price at the international market.

Meanwhile, as reported by All Sindh Sarafa Jewellers Association, the price of the 10 grams of 24 karats of the precious metal also went down by Rs.1,629 to settle at Rs.171,553 from its last day rate of Rs.173,182 whereas the price of 10 grams of 22 karats of gold decreased to Rs.157,257 from its last day price of Rs.158,750.

However, the price of per tola and ten-gram silver witnessed no change and settled at Rs.2,500 and Rs.2,143.34, respectively.

Gold Price in International Market

Like the local market, the price of yellow metal in the international market also went down by $15 to settle at $1,923 per ounce from its previous day’s price of $1,938. The decrease in the price of gold in the local market is attributed to two reasons. First, the appreciation of local currency against the dollar, and second, the decrease of gold price in the international market.
