Gold Price Decreases by Rs 7,800 Per Tola to settle at Rs 197,200

ISLAMABAD: The per tola 24 karats of gold price witnessed a significant decrease Rs7,800 in the local market on Thursday to settle at Rs 197,200 as compared to its last day price of Rs205,000.

According to All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), rates of the 10 grams of 24 karats of gold also went down and experienced a decrease of Rs6,684 to settle at Rs169,070.

Last day price of the precious metal went up in the bullion market by over Rs6000 per tola.

Gold Price in International Market

Despite the decrease in the local market, rates of the yellow metal went up in the international market by $13 per ounce to settle at $1,885 against its last day price of $1,872 per punce. The decrease of price in the local market is attributed to the recent crackdown by the government followed by appreciation of the Pakistani rupee against the US dollar and other international currencies. The local currency witnessed appreciation on the 26th consecutive session against the greenback.
