Gold Price Decreases by Rs2,200 Per Tola

KARACHI: After a series of record-breaking highs last week, gold rates in Pakistan saw a decline on Thursday, despite an increase in international rates.

According to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), the price of gold in the local market dropped by Rs2,200 per tola, bringing it down to Rs261,500. The price for 10 grammes of gold also decreased by Rs1,886, settling at Rs224,194.

This decline follows Saturday’s peak, when gold prices in Pakistan reached a record high of Rs263,700 per tola after a gain of Rs1,700. In contrast, global gold prices saw a slight increase on Thursday, with the APGJSA reporting a $4 rise to $2,516 per ounce, including a $20 premium.  Meanwhile, silver prices in Pakistan remained unchanged, holding steady at Rs2,950 per tola.
