Gold Price Witnesses Rs.700 Decline to Settle at Rs.239,100 Per Tola

ISLAMABAD: The per tola price of 24 karats of gold witnessed a marginal decline by Rs.700 on Monday and was available in the market at Rs. 239,100 as compared to Rs. 239,800 the previous day.

Meanwhile, as reported by All Sindh Sarafa Jewellers Association, the price of 10 grams of 24 karats of the precious metal also went down by Rs.600 to close at Rs.204 990 from its previous day’s price of Rs.205,590 whereas the rate of 10 grams of 22 karats of the yellow plate decreased to Rs. 187,907  from the previous rate of Rs.188,457.

However, the rate for per and ten grams of the white plate (silver) observed no change and were close at RS 2,900 and Rs 2,486.28, respectively.

Like the local market, the price of the precious metal in the international market also went down and recorded a decrease of $5 to settle at $1,940 per ounce from its previous sale of $1,945 per ounce.

Volatile Gold Price in Pakistan

Rates of gold in Pakistan remained highly volatile during the current year. On May 10, it reached the highest ever at Rs2,40,000 per tola, followed by a sudden decline from June till it slid down to Rs2,04500 in the middle of July. However, soon after the arrival of the caretaker government and the devaluation of the local currency, the price of the precious metal is approaching again to its highest-ever level.
