Gold Prices Up by Rs. 1,200, Settle at Rs.246,800 Per Tola in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: The price of per tola of 24 karat gold jacked up by Rs.1,200 and was sold at Rs.246,800 on Thursday compared to its sale at Rs. 245,600 on the last trading day.

According to the All Sindh Sarafa Jewellers Association, the price of the precious metal has increased by 10 dollars to 2,382 dollars from 2,372 dollars per ounce in the international market.

It said the price of 10 grams of 24 karat gold also increased by Rs.1,029 to Rs.211,591 from Rs. 210,562. whereas the price of 10 grams of 22 karat gold went up to Rs.193,959 from Rs. 193,016.

The price of per tola and ten-gram silver remained consistent at Rs.2,900 and Rs.2,486.28 respectively.

The international market for the yellow plates remained highly volatile recently due to a number of reasons including investment from the Chinese investors as their stock market went down and they opted to invest in the safe haven.

Meanwhile, a number of private banks in the US also opted to invest in gold taking its price first above 2300 dollars and then even above 2400 dollars per ounce.
