Gold rates up by Rs.1,600, Settle at Rs.242,900 Per Tola

ISLAMABAD: The per tola price of 24 karats of gold went up by Rs. 1,600 and was sold at Rs. 242,900 on Friday compared to its sale at Rs. 241,300 on the last trading day.

Meanwhile, according to the All Sindh Sarafa Jewellers Association, the rates for 10 grams of 24 karat gold also increased by Rs. 1,372 to Rs.208,248 from Rs. 206,876 whereas the price of 10 grams 22 karat gold went up to went up to Rs.190,894 from Rs. 189,636.

The price of per tola and ten-gram silver remained unchanged at Rs.2,750 and Rs.2,357.68 respectively. respectively.

Gold Price in International Market

The price of gold in the international market increased by $28 to $2,363 from $2,335, the Association reported.

Earlier, during the last several months, the international market registered a historic record high a number of times including the latest one where the price for the yellow metal surpassed $2450 per ounce.

The international market for the yellow plates remained highly volatile recently due to a number of reasons including investment from the Chinese investors (two months before) as their stock market went down and they opted to invest in the safe haven.

Meanwhile, a number of private banks in the US also opted to invest in gold taking its price first above $2300 and then even above $2400 per ounce.
