CALIFORNIA: In a bid to keep up with Microsoft’s incorporation of ChatGPT into its Bing search engine, Google has unveiled its own AI tool called Search Generative Experience (SGE) for its search engine. The company is now rolling out SGE, allowing users to experiment with the AI tool and provide feedback to Google.

According to a blog post by Google, SGE’s generative AI aims to simplify the search process by helping users understand topics faster, discover new perspectives and insights, and enhance overall productivity. The announcement of this feature was made during Google’s I/O event earlier this month, and now users can test it out firsthand.

The new search feature introduces a dedicated section at the top of search results, aggregating information from various sources into a single box. This eliminates the need to click on different website links, streamlining the search experience.

To access Google SGE, users based in the United States will need to sign up for Google Labs. Once signed up, they will receive an email from the company containing instructions on how to get started with the feature.

Google Aims to Enhance Search Engine Capabilities

With the launch of SGE, Google aims to enhance its search engine capabilities by incorporating generative AI technology. By providing users with a more efficient and comprehensive search experience, Google hopes to stay competitive in the AI race against Microsoft and its ChatGPT integration.

As users begin to explore and provide feedback on SGE, it remains to be seen how Google’s AI tool will be received and whether it will be able to rival the functionality and impact of Microsoft’s ChatGPT integration in Bing search.

The introduction of SGE reflects Google’s commitment to leveraging AI advancements to further improve its products and services, and users can expect continued innovation as the company seeks to enhance the search experience and deliver relevant and reliable information in a more accessible manner.
