Governor KP Persuades Businessmen to Follow Energy Saving Formula

ISLAMABAD: Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Haji Ghulam Ali has succeeded in influencing the traders and business community of the province to follow the plan of the federal government about energy saving and assured them that issues related to gas and power would be addressed on a priority basis.

The governor said this while presiding over a meeting with traders and businessmen from the province in the Governors’ House while adding that the traders and businessmen should play their part in taking the country out of the current difficult situation.

The Governor appreciated and thanked the traders and businessmen for extending complete support in fulfilling the government’s plan of power saving. He was hopeful the traders and businessmen will close their businesses as per schedule to save energy.

He told the participants that a representative committee would be formed to tackle the recommendations and suggestions presented by the businessmen with the federal government.

Haji Ghulam Ali said that he knew about the current flour crises in KP and assured the participants that he would talk to the chief ministers of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to rectify the situation in the larger interest of the people.

He assured them that he would play his role in lifting an uncalled ban on the transportation of flour from Punjab to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa very soon. 

Businessmen assure cooperating in saving energy

Senior leaders and traders from the Chamber expressed confidence in the leadership of the governor and assured their full support in observing the government’s energy-saving plan. However, they demanded a relaxation in the schedule of business closure from the month of March.

The meeting was attended by the senior business community leaders comprising President Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Muhammad Ishaq, Malik Meher Ali, Sharafat Ali Mubarak, and Haji Fazal Ilahi, former and present members from Peshawar Chamber, Tanzeem Tajraan, Markazi Tanzeem Tajraan, FPCCI, and Gems Association and others.
