Govt Announces Rs100 Subsidy on Per Liter Petrol for Low-Income Consumers

ISLAMABAD: State Minister for Petroleum Musadik Malik on Monday announced a massive 100 rupees slash in petroleum prices for motorists owning vehicles with engine power less than 800cc.

In a press conference, the minister said that the affluent people would pay 100 rupees extra for petroleum products while the poor would get the relief of the same amount.

Details of petrol prices cut plan next week

The government will reveal the details of this implementation plan within the next week.

Moreover, the government will also subsidize gas prices for low-income groups.

On Sunday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced that low-income people would be given a subsidy of 50 rupees per liter under the relief package.

While chairing a meeting to discuss the petroleum relief package, he said the relief would be given to low-income consumers who have 800cc and other small cars, motorcycles, and rickshaws.
