Govt Decides to Replace Ambassadors in US, UN

ISLAMABAD: The federal government of Pakistan has decided to appoint new ambassadors in the United States and as well as in the United Nations (UN), a local Pakistani TV claimed.

The TV citied a diplomatic source as saying that Rizwan Saeed was likely to replace the current ambassador in the United States Sardar Masood Khan.  As per the TV report, Rizwan Saeed Sheikh is presently serving as Additional Secretary Middle East in the Foreign Office.

Asim Iftikhar Ahmed, who is presently working as an Ambassador in France, was likely to replace Pakistan’s permanent representative in the US Munir Akram. Earlier, Asim Iftikhar Ahmed had served as a spokesperson in the Foreign Office. The local television reported that a summary has been sent to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for the appointment of new ambassadors.
