Guterres ‘Saddened’ by Musharraf’s Death: UN Spokesperson

ISLAMABAD/UNITED NATIONS: The Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, has expressed his grief at the death of General (R) Pervez Musharraf, former President of Pakistan, saying that Pakistan under his leadership had experienced “steady” economic growth.

His spokesperson Stephane Dujarric stated on Sunday night in New York that the UN SG was “saddened” to learn of the passing of President Musharraf and that he expressed his “deepest condolences” to the people of Pakistan and the family of the former Pakistani leader.
