LAHORE: To honour the ‘heroes of the nation’, a ceremony was held at the Haier Pakistan Head Office, Lahore, with the electronic giant offering cash awards and jobs to the heroes.
Peshawar Zalmi and Zalmi Foundation organized the ceremony to pay tribute to Sahib Khan and Hasan Zeb, the heroes of Battagram Chairlift Rescue Operation. Both national heroes were given a cash award of five lakhs each and a job letter.
In his message, Chairman Peshawar Zalmi, Zalmi Foundation and CEO of Haier Pakistan, Javed Afridi said that Sahib Khan and Hasan Zeib have put their lives in danger for others. They showed exemplary bravery at the risk of their lives. Both brave youngsters provided moments of happiness to the nation by saving lives in difficult situation. Both have also been offered jobs, he said.
Sahib Khan and Hasan Zeib had rescued eight people trapped in the chair lift in Battagram with the help of security personnel. Due to the broken chair lift, the students and their teachers were in dangerous condition for several hours.
