Hajj Season: Saudi Minister Confirms Success of Health Plans

RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s Minister for Health, Fahad Al-Jalajel, has announced the success of the health plans for the current year’s Hajj season and said that there was no epidemic to public health, Arab media reported on Friday.

According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) Al-Jalajel said: “I am pleased to announce the success of this year’s Hajj health plans”. He said that no epidemic was reported during this year’s Hajj season.  He praised the role played by the Supreme Hajj Committee, led by Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif, Interior Minister, in addressing all health problems, extending his thanks to the Interior Ministry for the active contribution in executing the health plans.

He attributed the success of the health plans to the “integration among all officials and government departments early preparedness for this year’s Hajj season.” The Minister said that based on the keenness of Saudi King Salman, “over 354 health care facilities had been established to serve Hajj pilgrims”. He added that over 36,000 health cadres and more than 7,600 volunteers extended their support for the purpose.”

Al-Jalajel added that over 400,000 Hajj pilgrims had received health care services during the current year’s Hajj season. According to Arab news, online health consultations via Seha Virtual Hospital, which usages the innovative and latest technologies were also provided for more than 4,000 Hajj pilgrims, and 8,000 pilgrims were treated for heat stress during the Hajj season.

The Minister thanked all the sectors that cooperated in increasing the health awareness of Hajj pilgrims and providing best services to them, wishing them a happy return journey to their nations.
