CAIRO: Pakistani player Hamza Khan suffered a major setback as he was eliminated in the first round at the World Squash Championships in Egypt. Hamza Khan, a former world junior champion has failed to qualify for the 2nd round of the event.
Expectations were high for a strong performance from Hamza Khan in the event, but he faced defeat in his first match against Switzerland’s Nicolas Müller.
Hamza Khan lost to Nicolas Müller in three straight games as the scores were 11-9, 11-6, 11-6 in favour of Müller, securing win against the Pakistani player.
He was the sole Pakistani player taking part in the event. His early exit from the mega event comes as a disappointment for squash enthusiasts in Pakistan.
