Heatwave Conditions to Prevail in Pakistan; Isolated Rain Likely in North

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) Friday said extreme heatwave conditions will prevail in most plain areas of the country.

However partly cloudy weather with isolated rain may occur in upper parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir.

According to synoptic situation, continental air is prevailing over most areas of the country.

A high pressure prevailing in the upper atmosphere is likely to continue during the next two to three days.

During the last 24 hours, extremely hot weather prevailed over most parts of the country. However, rain-windstorm occurred in Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pothohar and Islamabad.

The rainfall recorded in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: Pattan 05mm, Dir (Lower 04, Upper 03), Malam Jabba 02, Chitral 01.

The rainfall recorded in Punjab: Rawalpindi Chaklala 03 and Islamabad 02mm.

The highest maximum temperatures recorded were Mohenjo Daro 51 Celsius, Khairpur, Jacobabad 50 Celsius, Rohri, Larkana, Sukkur, Dadu, 49 Celsius, Khanpur, Rahim Yar Khan, Padidan, Sibbi, DG Khan 48 Celsius, Shaheed Benazir Abad, Bahawalnagar, Kot Addu, Lesbella and Mithi 47 Celsius.
