ISLAMABAD: The Higher Education Commission has invited applications for accreditation of Pakistan-based research journal projects for the year 2023-24 (1 July 2023 to 30 June 2024).
HEC would facilitate national research journals registered entities through capacity building and financial support, sources said.
These entities include Universities and Degree Awarding Institutions, Sector R and D Organizations, and non-profitable academic societies having registration with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan Societies only.
HEC conditions
The journal must have published a minimum of five original research articles per edition. At least two review reports of each article are required.
The journal’s editor will provide a recommendation letter from the head of the institution in case of an approved educational institution, public or private, as well as R and D public sector organizations.
The journals run by non-profitable academic societies doing research study will be considered only after the registration with SECP or Registrar of Societies.
Journals listed in the removed list of Directory of Open Access Journals or Australian Business Deans Committee would not be considered for accreditation.
The journals presently enlisted in HEC Journal Recognition System will also have to do fresh apply for accreditation in FY 2023-24.
Submission is 7 April 07, 2023, and it should be submitted online at the HEC website: research.hec.gov.pk
Applications sent through other means, like email, post, etc., will not be entertained.
