ISLAMABAD: As part of the Prime Minister’s Green Youth Movement (GYM), the Higher Education Commission (HEC) is holding a Green Digital Photography Competition for the promotion of environmental sustainability and climate change awareness.

The theme of the competition is ‘Impacts of Climate Change on Pakistan’s Ecosystem.’ Participants are encouraged to capture the beauty of the natural world, human impact on the environment, and youth perspectives on climate change.

Before February 28, 2023, Pakistani teenagers and young people between the ages of 15 and 29 are encouraged to submit original photos showing how climate change has affected their nation via the Prime Minister’s Youth Program (PMYP) website. The competition is split into two age groups—15 to 22 years and 23 to 29 years—with the same cash awards for first, second, and third place.

HEC’s initiative

Through this initiative, HEC and the Prime Minister’s Green Youth Movement want to motivate young people to take action to safeguard the environment. Winners will be revealed and honored during the “Week of Youth,” observed from February 20–26, 2023. Any additional information can be found on the PMYP website’s competition page.
