TEHRAN: An Iranian helicopter carrying the country’s minister for sports crashed Thursday, killing one of his assistants and wounding him as well as 15 other people, Iranian media reported.
Helicopter Crashes in Iran
According to official news agency IRNA, minister for sports Hamid Sajjadi wounded in the crash and suffered a head injury. It added that the helicopter crashed when it was landing in Karman province of Iran. According to rescue officials, Minister’s advisor Esmail Ahmadi was killed in the accident and sixteen people including the minister wounded in the crash.
Head of the Red Crescent in the region told a television that the minister for sports wounded but his condition is stable.
Reports said that the injured were immediately shifted to nearby hospitals and rescue teams rushed to the site after the incident.
