BEIRUT, Lebanon: Hezbollah has escalated tensions in the region by firing rockets at an Israeli military intelligence base in the Tel Aviv suburbs on Wednesday.

This attack was a retaliation against Israeli airstrikes on Hezbollah’s stronghold in south Beirut. The group described the rocket barrage as a response to what it termed “attacks and massacres committed by the Zionist enemy.”

The Israeli military confirmed that two rockets launched from Lebanon were intercepted by its air force, triggering air raid sirens in Tel Aviv, but there were no immediate reports of casualties from either the rocket or drone assaults.
