MUMBAI: Hillary Clinton, former US Secretary of State, and Boris Johnson, former UK Prime Minister, are likely to attend the wedding of Anant Ambani, the son of Billionaire Mukesh Ambani. Bloomberg reported that the event is set to take place on July 12, with around 12,00 guests expected.
The wedding invitations were uniquely designed as mini temples. The celebration will feature a wide range of delicious foods, chosen by Nita Ambani, including popular Indian street foods like aloo tikki, tomato chaat, palak chaat, chana kachori, and kulfi from chefs in Varanasi.
The events highlight the immense wealth of Asia’s richest families and the passing down of their wealth to their heirs. Mukesh Ambani has a net worth of around $120 billion, ranking him 11th in the world, according to the Bloomberg Index.
The wedding celebrations have already started with traditional ceremonies. The ‘Sangeet’, featured a special performance by global superstar Justin Bieber, who was reportedly paid $10 million to perform in the event.
On Monday, a ‘Haldi’ ceremony was attended by Bollywood stars and close family members. Manish Malhotra, a famous fashion designer, shared photos of Nita Ambani’s beautiful traditional clothes, and Isha Ambani also wore a traditional outfit.
Before this, the family had two big celebrations, including a three-day event in March with Rihanna singing, and a luxury cruise in May with performances by Katy Perry and Andrea Bocelli. The Ambani family also organized a special wedding ceremony for 50 underprivileged couples.
