SANAA: Yemen’s Houthis have warned to intensify their maritime blockade in response to Israel’s targeting of Rafah in the Gaza Strip. The Houthi government condemned “war crimes and genocide” committed by Israel against Palestinian civilians, particularly in light of the recent threat of a massacre in Rafah.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Houthi-controlled government issued a statement strongly denouncing the international community’s silence regarding Israel’s actions. They specifically highlighted the alleged targeting of displaced Palestinian civilians in Rafah, stating that such actions escalate daily.
“We warn the Zionist entity of a major escalation in the Yemeni response to its attacks in Rafah,” the ministry declared, further threatening to escalate the military confrontation to higher and more severe levels, potentially reaching Tel Aviv.
The statement reaffirmed Houthis’ unwavering support for Palestinian civilians in Gaza. It reiterated the commitment to maintain a maritime blockade on Israel in the Red Sea until the aggression ceases and humanitarian aid, including food, medical supplies, and fuel, can freely enter Gaza without hindrance.
