ISLAMABAD: Senior Hurriyet Leader Raja Najabat Hussain Friday expressed gratitude to the people of Pakistan and allies of Kashmir for their unwavering support of the Kashmiri people in their struggle for the right to self-determination.
Hussain emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to providing moral, political, and diplomatic backing to the Kashmir issue during an interview with Radio Pakistan’s current affairs program.
Highlighting the crucial role of the media in shedding light on the Kashmir issue and Indian atrocities, Hussain announced that Kashmiris worldwide would observe February 5th as Kashmir Solidarity Day. The purpose of this day is to express solidarity with Kashmiris enduring Indian atrocities. “We firmly stand with our Kashmiri brethren facing Indian aggression,” he added.
Hussain revealed that Kashmiris, both on both sides of the Line of Control (LoC) and globally, would hold meetings, seminars, and conferences not only on February 5th but also on February 9th, marking the death anniversary of Afzal Guru.
He emphasized close collaboration with Pakistani and Kashmiri organizations in the European Union and the United Kingdom.
Acknowledging that pro-India Kashmiris also condemn Indian brutal activities in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Hussain lamented the support of Indian courts for the present government’s Hindutva ideology.
He pointed out that in the past, international forums, as well as British and European Union parliaments, discussed the illegal Indian occupation and atrocities on innocent Kashmiris. Hussain mentioned that more than two dozen parliamentarians are expected to attend a conference on February 6th, and over 40 parliamentarians are anticipated to meet with their team members.
He emphasized that the UN Human Rights organization has submitted two reports on Indian human rights violations in Kashmir.
Hussain also raised concerns about Narendra Modi’s efforts to change the demographic structure by settling non-Muslims in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir after the abrogation of Article 370 and 35-A.
‘Grateful for Pakistan’s unwavering support,’ he called attention to the need to address these critical issues on the international stage. – APP
