IAEA and Saudi Women’s Energy Association Partner to Boost STEM and Nuclear Innovation

RIYADH, Saudi Arabia: In Riyadh on Monday, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and Saudi Arabia’s Women and Energy Association signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to enhance cooperation in capacity building.

The MoU was formalized by IAEA Director General Rafael Mariano Grossi and Princess Mishaal bint Saud AlShalan, Chairwoman of the Women and Energy Association, with Minister of Energy Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman in attendance, SPA reported.

The agreement focuses on strengthening the role of women in STEM fields—science, technology, engineering, and mathematics—while also supporting innovation in nuclear sciences. This collaboration aims to contribute to a sustainable future by fostering expertise and leadership among women in these crucial areas. The partnership marks a significant step in promoting gender diversity and advancing nuclear science in Saudi Arabia and beyond.
