ISLAMABAD: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 Team of the Tournament, prominently featuring six players from India.
Led by Rohit Sharma, the Indian team clinched the T20 World Cup title after 17 years, defeating South Africa by seven runs in the final held in Barbados.
Joining Sharma in the team are Player of the Tournament Jasprit Bumrah, all-rounder Hardik Pandya, Suryakumar Yadav, Arshdeep Singh, and Axar Patel.
The XI also includes three players from Afghanistan: Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Rashid Khan, and Fazalhaq Farooqi, alongside West Indies’ Nicholas Pooran and Australia’s Marcus Stoinis. South Africa’s Anrich Nortje is named as the 12th man.

Following their victory, Rohit Sharma, along with veteran Virat Kohli, and Ravindra Jadeja, announced retirement from T20 Internationals, marking a historic moment for Indian cricket. This triumph is India’s second T20 World Cup title after their inaugural win in 2007 against Pakistan.
