ISLAMABAD: The International Cricket Council (ICC) will reveal the schedule for the Champions Trophy 2025 on Monday (tomorrow), following the resolution of all outstanding issues between Pakistan and India.

The development is likely to pave the way for a seamless execution of the Champions Trophy 2025 tournament.

Media reports suggest that negotiations regarding conditions for the tournament are in their final stages.

The agreement was said to have been finalised following discussions between ICC chief Jay Shah and Pakistan Cricket Council (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi in Dubai.

Indian media reported that the ICC endorsed a hybrid model for the championship, reinforcing a framework agreed upon by Pakistan and India.

The forthcoming announcement is anticipated to shed light on the timeline and structure of the Champions Trophy 2025, representing a pivotal advancement for the world of international cricket.

Similarly, the PCB Board of Governors (BoGs) is set to convene on Wednesday to deliberate on key issues concerning the upcoming tournament, which is slated to take place in Pakistan next year.

Sources said that PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi will preside over the meeting alongside other senior board officials.

The agenda will include discussions on the forthcoming tournament, the tenth season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), and plans for the cricket season in 2025.

They added that the meeting will also pore over Pakistan’s performance across all formats of the game.

“The huddle will be briefed on the ongoing renovation of stadiums nationwide,” they said.

The gathering is scheduled to take place in Islamabad.

Previously, Pakistan Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif endorsed Mohsin Naqvi’s stance on issues arising from India’s reservations over the execution of the Champions Trophy 2025 tournament.

During their meeting, Naqvi assured the premier that the PCB was fully equipped to host the tournament in Pakistan.

Concurrently, a report by Cricinfo revealed that the hybrid model agreed upon by Pakistan and India will enable the cricketing nations to compete in ICC tournaments hosted by the opposing country at a neutral venue.

The ICC has three major global events lined up in Pakistan and India from 2024 to 2027 including the Champions Trophy in Pakistan next year, the Women’s ODI World Cup in India in 2025, and the Men’s T20 World Cup, which will be co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka in 2026.
