ISLAMABAD: Several Pakistani players including the skipper Babar Azam have improved their positions in the latest T20I rankings released by the International Cricket Council (ICC) on Wednesday.
According to the recent ICC rankings Pakistan’s captain Babar Azam, with a rating of 763, moved one spot ahead to occupy the fourth spot on the list. Pakistan’s wicketkeeper batter Muhammad Rizwan still managed to secure his third spot in the ranking.
Babar Azam improved his rankings after an impressive performance in the recently concluded home series against New Zealand where he finished as the highest run-scorer for Pakistan adding 125 runs on board.
Other ICC Batting Rankings
In the ICC’s T20 batter’s list, India’s Suryakumar Yadav still secured the top slot followed by Phil Salt from England as second best batter
Meanwhile, Aiden Markram from South Africa occupied 5th, Rilee Rossouw (S. Africa), 7th, Jos Buttler (England) 8th and Dawid Malan (Eng) secured 10th position on the board among the top 10 batters.
Meanwhile, Tim Seifert from New Zealand has improved his position while moving to the seventh spot after compiling 85 runs in the series against Pakistan.
No other batter from Pakistan secured a position below 50, however, Fakhar Zaman has improved his position to secure the 62nd slot after adding 104 runs to his innings in a recent series against New Zealand.
ICC Bowling Rankings
In bowling, pace spearhead Shaheen Afridi moved ahead three places to secure 14th spot after taking eight wickets in four matches against New Zealand.
Imad Wasim jumped from 10 to 22nd position in the T20I all-rounders rankings.
Meanwhile, Adil Rashid from England managed to retain his top rank followed by Sri Lanka’s Wanindu Hasaranga and West Indies’ Akeal Hosein as second and third spot respectively.
Among the best all-rounders, Bangladesh’s Shakib Al Hasan secured the first position whereas Shadab Khan from Pakistan is ranked as the 10th-best all-rounder in the T20 rankings.
