KOLKATA: In a high-stakes encounter at the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup, India set a challenging target of 327 runs for South Africa at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Sunday. Opting to bat first after winning the toss, India displayed a solid batting performance, reaching a total of 326 runs for the loss of five wickets in their allotted 50 overs.

Openers Rohit Sharma (40) and Shubman Gill (23) provided a strong foundation with a partnership worth 62 runs. Virat Kohli (10) and Shreyas Iyer (77) followed with an impressive 134-run partnership, setting the stage for the middle-order batters. Contributions from Ravindra Jadeja (29) and Suryakumar Yadav (22) propelled India to a competitive total of 326/5 in 50 overs.

Marco Jansen, Keshav Maharaj, Kagiso Rabada, Lungi Ngidi, and Tabraiz Shamsi each securing one wicket for South Africa.
