ICCI Delegation Visits Italy to Explore Business Partnerships

ISLAMABAD: A delegation of the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industries (ICCI) led by its Vice President Engineer Muhammad Azhar ul Islam Zafar, visited Italy and met with office bearers from Milan Chamber of Commerce, Promos Italia, and Assolombarda to explore avenues of business partnership between the entrepreneurs from both the countries.

Promos Italia is a central Agency of the Chamber of Commerce system of Italy and Assolombarda is the group of companies operating in the City of Milan and in the provinces of Lodi, Monza, and Brianza.

Pakistan Consul General in Milan Italy, Aqsa Nawaz Italy arranged the meetings of ICCI delegations with Italian trade associations.

Pakistan Consider Italy Important for Trade Activities

While speaking on the occasion Azhar ul Islam Zafar said that Pakistan always considers Italy an important country of the European Union for trade activities and ICCI delegation has come to Italy to explore new areas of business partnership between Italy and Pakistan.

He added that close cooperation between the small and medium-size enterprises (SMEs) of Pakistan and Italy would be supportive in sharing experiences and promoting bilateral business ties.

He further said that Pakistan owns great reserves of marble and granite and the import of the latest and relevant marble machinery from Italy can assist to produce value-added marble products and boost their exports.

Italy Can Import Textiles, Marble Products, Surgical Instruments, Leather, and Sports Goods

Zafar said that Pakistan can take industrial and agricultural machinery from Italy while at the same time Italy can also import other products from Pakistan comprising raw materials, textiles, marble products, surgical instruments, pharmaceuticals, leather products, sports goods, and others.

He also invited Italian entrepreneurs to visit Pakistan to explore investment opportunities.

Welcoming the ICCI delegation, Chief Strategy Officer of Promos Italia, Federico Maria Bega, said that their organization is working to support SMEs internationalization, preparing themselves to have a continuous liaison with the international markets.

ICCI, Promos Italia to Benefit SMEs in Italy and Pakistan

He added that Promos Italia is active in more than 110 countries in recent times, due to its wide international network of relationships and partnerships with both public and private sectors.

He further said that cooperation between Promos Italia and ICCI would no doubt usher in beneficial outcomes for the SMEs in Italy and Pakistan.

Later former president ICCI, Muhammad Shakeel Munir, former senior vice president ICCI, Jamshaid Akhtar Sheikh and other members of the delegation also shared their proposals to improve bilateral trade and economic links between the two countries. – APP
