ICT Export Remittances Surge to US$ 3.223 bln during FY 2023-24

ISLAMABAD: The Information and Communication Technology (ICT) export remittances have surged to US$ 298 million during the Financial Year 2023-24 (July 2023 to June 2024), compared to $2.596 billion recorded during the previous fiscal year, FY 2022-23.

The ICT services export remittances surged to $298 million, showing a significant increase of 32.44 percent as compared to $225 million in June 2023.

Minister of State for IT and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima said that measure for increase in IT exports are underway.

She said that the increase in IT exports is the direct outcome of Prime Minister Shabaz Sharif’s vision,  his persistent efforts and the priority given to the IT sector.

The minister said that IT exports are increasing because of because of the government’s initiatives for ease of doing business.

Shaza Fatima said with the robust support from Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), Ministry of IT, Pakistan Software Export Board, and IT industry are committed to enhance country’s IT exports.

The ICT sector’s exports of $3.223 billion are the highest among all services, accounting for 41.29 percent of the total export of services, with ‘Other Business Services’ trailing at $1.550 billion.
