In a major relief to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief and former premier Imran Khan, Islamabad High Court on Monday accepted Imran Khan’s apology and wrapped up the show-caused notice issued to him.
Imran Khan has submitted his affidavit in the contempt of court case for allegedly threatening a judge in which Imran Khan acknowledged that he “might have crossed a red line while making a public speech” but Khan did not offer an apology for his remarks.
Khan promised the IHC that he would “never do anything in the future” that would be detrimental to the dignity of any court and the judicial system, particularly the lower judiciary. Former Chief Executive assured the Court of his willingness to take any additional actions that the IHC deems necessary and that he never intended to challenge the dignity or independence of the judiciary or interfere with the procedure of the court.
