ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday declared the petition seeking cancellation of PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s arrest warrants as ineffective and also sought a report from the IGP (Inspector General of Police) Islamabad regarding the missing file related to the attendance of Imran Khan.

Chief Justice Aamer Farooq heard the case filed by former ex-prime minister Imran Khan requesting the cancellation of his non-bailable arrest warrants. Barrister Gohar Ali and Khwaja Haris appeared before the court on behalf of Imran Khan.

The chief justice IHC noted that the trial court had already cancelled the non-bailable arrest warrants of Chairman PTI, and now the case in IHC had become ineffective.

The apex court also asked the IGP to submit a report about the missing attendance file from the judicial complex within ten days and adjourned the case.

It is worth noting that the trial court was informed on March 18 regarding the missing attendance file during Imran Khan’s appearance in the judicial complex. On the day, the trial court cancelled the non-bailable arrest warrants of the PTI Chairman on his arrival in the judicial complex Islamabad.

The District Election Commissioner had lodged a criminal complaint against PTI’s chairman over not disclosing the gifts received from the Toshakhana.
