IHC grants protective bail to Imran Khan

The Islamabad High Court on Wednesday granted protective bail to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman and former prime minister Imran Khan till Tuesday (October 18) in a case filed against him and other PTI leaders by the FIA for allegedly submitting false affidavits to the election commission in connection with a prohibited funding case involving his party.

The court ordered the former prime minister to submit surety bonds worth Rs5,000 and approach the relevant court to pursue his case.

IHC Chief Justice Athar Minallah said the special court should hear the case but the IHC will grant protective bail to Imran Khan untill then.

The additional attorney general said that the plea for protective bail can be heard if the case was of another province.

Imran Khan was summoned by IHC over his protective bail plea in the prohibited funding case.
