IHC Takes Notice of Imran Khan’s Arrest

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court Chief Justice Aamer Farooq took notice of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan’s arrest in the Al-Qadar Trust case on Tuesday and summoned the IGP Islamabad and the interior secretary within fifteen minutes.

He also directed the Additional Attorney General (AAG) to appear before the court in fifteen minutes and instructed him to instantly find out who was behind the ex-premier’s arrest.

The chief justice said that if an inquiry has to be conducted, action would also be taken against Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and ministers.

He further asked that the officials to inform the court that in which case Imran Khan was arrested.

The Islamabad advocate general then requested the IHC to extend the time of fifteen minutes to half an hour, but his request was rejected, and he was ordered to appear in the given time.
