ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s fast bowler Ihsanullah has withdrawn his unexpected retirement announcement from the Pakistan Super League (PSL), admitting it was an emotional reaction to being overlooked in the PSL 10 players draft.

The 22-year-old, who has vowed to regain form and prove his worth, thanked the Multan Sultans and PCB for their continued support during his recovery from an elbow injury.

In an interview, Ihsanullah expressed regret over his hasty decision, revealing that he acted impulsively after not being selected in the PSL draft. “Retirement is not on my agenda; I let my emotions take over,” he admitted.

Looking into the emotional turmoil that led to his initial declaration, he shared, “When I saw my name missing from the draft list, it played with my mind, thanks to some well-meaning words from friends and family. I reacted in the heat of the moment.”

Determined to bounce back, Ihsanullah vowed to train diligently, aiming to prove his worth and earn the trust of the PSL owners who overlooked him. He also extended his apologies to the PSL franchise, affirming his commitment to Multan Sultans and his ambition to wear the national colours again with stellar performances.

The 22-year-old expressed heartfelt thanks to Ali Khan Tareen, owner of the Multan Sultans, and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for facilitating his medical treatment for an elbow injury.

Hours ago, in a moment of frustration over being passed over by franchises, Ihsanullah had announced his retirement following his exclusion from the HBL PSL 10 draft.
