ISLAMABAD: Over the past 34 years, 913 children have been killed by the Indian military in Jammu and Kashmir due to their ongoing acts of state terrorism.
The Research Section of Kashmir Media Service released a report claiming that Around 96,199 Kashmiris, including 913 children, were martyred by the Indian troops from January 01, 1989 to date.
The research showed 107,903 children were left orphaned in the occupied region due to the troops’ atrocities against the civilians. It stated that throughout this time, the Indian army, police, and paramilitary forces fired teargas shells, bullets, and pellets, injuring thousands of people, including children.
After the 2010 revolt, hundreds of people suffered vision loss in one or both eyes, including youngsters Hiba Jan, Shahid Fayaz, Owais Ahmed, and Faizan Ashraf Tantray.
According to the research, hundreds of children under 19 were killed during cordon and search operations and phony encounters, and many youngsters are being held illegally in jails throughout India and IIOJK under unjust laws.
In a statement released in Srinagar, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference urged the UN, human rights, and child protection organizations to step forward and prevent Kashmiri children from becoming victims of Indian state terrorism.
Farooq Abdullah, the president of the National Conference, stated in a media interview in Srinagar that until India and Pakistan determine the region’s future via negotiation, the situation in Kashmir will not change. — APP
