PESHAWAR: On Thursday, FIA Composite Circle Kohat apprehended an unlicensed money exchanger from the Hangu district and retrieved Rs. 10 million from his possession.
The operation, led by Sub-Inspector Muhammad Jawad, ASI Kaleemullah, and Constable Abdul Ghaffar, was carried out under the guidance of Director Kohat Zone Inamullah Gandapur.
Acting on a tip-off, the FIA team, in collaboration with the KP Police, conducted a raid at Jail Chowk in district Hangu, resulting in the capture of the offender and the recovery of the substantial sum from his vehicle.
The arrested individual, identified as Sultan Ahmed, possessed records associated with hundi references, indicating possible links to an international hundi network.
Despite inquiries by the authorities, the accused failed to provide satisfactory explanations regarding the origin of the confiscated currency.
A case has been officially registered against Sultan Ahmed, and an ongoing investigation seeks to uncover further details about the illicit activities and connections involved in this case. —APP
