LAHORE: The Joint Investigation Team (JIT) probing the gun attack on former premier and PTI chief Imran Khan during his long march last year has officially nominated three more suspected persons in the case.

These three accused were already in the JIT’s custody. The accused included Tayyab But, PML-N District Information Secretary Mudassar Nazir, and his brother Ahsan Ali.

The three accused were presented before the district and session judge. The suspects were brought before the sessions court as the anti-terrorism court (ATC) judge was on leave today.

JIT seeks physical remand of accused

The investigating officer pleaded with the court to grant physical remand of the accused for the recovery of mobile phones.

The court accepted the JIT’s request and granted the accused three days of physical remand. The accused would be produced before the session court again on January 17.

Police have already arrested the key accused, Naveed Bashir, and another accused, Waqas, in the case of an assassination attempt on PTI Chairman Imran Khan.

PML-N District Information Secretary Mudassar Nazir’s brother Ahsan Ali wrote a post on social media on the day of the incident claiming that something bigger was going to happen today.
