ISLAMABAD: Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) Chief Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman claimed on Wednesday that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Imran Khan had been hiding behind PTI workers in order to avoid arrest.
Using PTI workers as a shield
In a press conference here, he criticized Imran Khan for not only using his party workers as a shield but also forcing them to stand against the state. He added that the country must establish its writ and guarantee Imran’s arrest for the “crimes he committed during his term of office”.
He claimed that many political leaders were arrested during Imran Khan’s government, which failed to prove a single allegation in court.
Imran Khan, according to the JUI chief, should show some courage and face the law, as he is hell-bent on spreading chaos and anarchy in the country to achieve his hidden agendas. He said the country could not operate on the whims of Imran Khan, who first neglected the Parliament and then resorted to “inciting violence in the country”.
Imran Khan was attempting to “implement his foreign agenda in the country,” according to Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman, but he would not be allowed to do so at any cost. He described the situation in Lahore as dire, claiming that the entire city had been turned into a battlefield, causing widespread inconvenience.
