Inaugural Flight Carrying 340 Pakistani Pilgrims Reaches Jeddah Safely

JEDDAH: The government Hajj Scheme’s first direct flight to Makkah, Saudi Arabian Airline SV 3727, carrying 340 intending pilgrims, safely landed at Jeddah Airport on Monday morning.

The Pakistan Hajj Mission gave the Pakistani pilgrims a hearty welcome as soon as they arrived in Makkah Mukarrama, the holy city. The pilgrims were welcomed with a shower of rose petals and cool drinks. In addition, lovely gifts were given to them, including sweets.

The Pakistani Hajj mission officials, Director Hajj Faheem Khan Afridi, Director (R&R), Mushahid Hussain Khalid, Director General Hajj Abdul Wahab Soomro, and others sincerely welcomed the Hajj pilgrims.

By Monday evening, three aircraft from Islamabad and Multan carrying 1050 hajj pilgrims would land in Jeddah. They include two planes, SV 3723 and SB 3801, which will deliver 340 pilgrims from Islamabad and 370 from Multan, respectively.

Intentional pilgrims will now be transported directly to Makkah, Saudi Arabia, by Hajj flying service. Flights to Makkah will be available from ten Pakistani locations, with the final flight leaving for Meccah on June 21. A second flight from Sukkur is scheduled to depart for Jeddah on June 7, while the first flight from Rahim Yar Khan is slated to leave for Jeddah on June 6. The post-hajj flights will commence on July 4.

After performing the Hajj, the pilgrims would go to Madina to complete their eight-day stay before taking a flight from Madina to Pakistan. A dedicated group of more than 137 doctors and paramedics will be available 24 hours daily to provide the pilgrims with medical care. — APP
