India and UAE Forge Nuclear Cooperation Agreement

NEW DELHI, India: India and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have strengthened their strategic partnership with a new nuclear cooperation agreement signed. Prime Minister Narendra Modi welcomed Crown Prince Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in New Delhi, marking a significant development in bilateral relations.

The agreement, formalized through a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited and Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation, aims to boost collaboration in several key areas. This includes enhancing the operation and maintenance of nuclear power plants, sourcing nuclear goods and services from India, and exploring mutual investment opportunities. The MoU is also expected to support capacity building efforts.

The signing reflects the substantial progress in the India-UAE comprehensive strategic partnership and highlights the growing ties between the two nations. Sheikh Khaled’s visit, his first official trip to India since assuming his role, underscores the deepening bilateral relationship.
