ISLAMABAD: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a whooping cash reward of INR 58 crore for the victorious Indian squad that clinched the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
On March 9 in Dubai, India triumphed over New Zealand, securing the title with a thrilling four-wicket victory.
“Securing consecutive ICC titles is a remarkable achievement, and this reward is a testament to Team India’s unwavering commitment and brilliance on the international stage,” expressed BCCI president Roger Binny.
“This financial recognition honours the tireless efforts of everyone working diligently behind the scenes. This marks our second ICC trophy in 2025, following the triumph at the ICC U19 Women’s World Cup, showcasing the robust cricketing framework we have cultivated in our nation.”
The ICC had previously announced a cash prize of USD 2.24 million for the Champions Trophy champions, along with an additional $34,000 for each match won (for every team), excluding the semi-finals and finals.
The total prize pool of $6.9 million reflects a remarkable 53% increase from the 2017 edition. The runners-up, New Zealand, received $1.12 million, while the semi-finalists, South Africa and Australia, took home $560,000 each.
Additionally, all eight participating teams were guaranteed $125,000 each for their participation in the tournament.
India has entered a golden era in ICC tournaments, boasting an impressive record with 23 victories out of 24 completed matches across the last three men’s limited-overs competitions.
Their only setback came in the 2023 ODI World Cup final against Australia, which snapped their ten-match winning streak in that tournament.
Since then, India has completed unbeaten campaigns at the 2024 T20 World Cup and the 2025 Champions Trophy, solidifying their dominance in the cricketing world.
