It is really surprising to always see the Indian leadership blowing the trumpet of being the victim of terrorism. Rather without any hyperbole, the fact is that it is India which is as biggest the perpetrator of terrorism as Israel. It is using terrorism as a state policy to not only destabilize neighboring countries, especially Pakistan, but also to crush minorities, be it Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, and Dalits.
Whilst chairing the 23rd meeting of the SCO, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi once again used the occasion to malign Pakistan, though this time in a veiled manner. He said that some countries use cross-border terrorism as an instrument of their policies and give shelter to terrorism.
The Indian Prime Minister, popularly known as the Butcher of Gujarat for massacring hundreds of thousands of Muslims, should reflect on his statement as to which country is carrying out cross-border terrorism. If the Indian PM seeks an honest answer from himself, he will definitely find the correct answer. And he indeed knows the answer as it is nobody else but India itself.
It is not an allegation, but there are substantive proofs of it. The UN Analytical Support and Sanctions Monitoring Report on Terrorism, 2020, clearly endorses Pakistan’s stance that TTP is operating from Afghanistan and, with Indian support, threatens Pakistan and other countries in the region.
Our successive governments have also shared several dossiers with the UN about the Indian involvement in terror acts inside Pakistan. These dossiers were prepared after a thorough investigation in sharp contrast to the posture of Indian leadership, which immediately pointed fingers at Pakistan soon after the terror act took place on its territory. Most recently, the present government shared a dossier regarding Indian involvement in the Johar Town, Lahore terrorist attack with the members of the UN Security Council.
Over and above, the very arrest of Kulbushan Jadhav, a RAW agent, in 2016 and his confessional statement of being involved in espionage and subversive activities should not leave in anybody’s mind about the evil face of India. Also, what is happening with the Kashmiri people in the illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir is no longer a secret or can be put under the carpet in this era of social media.
Whilst addressing the SCO Summit, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif very rightly emphasized that terrorism in all its forms and manifestations should be condemned in clear and unambiguous terms. However, condemnation alone will not be adequate as the situation on the ground will not change until the extremist Indian leadership is also punished for crimes that are such spiteful and heinous that their own people are not saved from them. The Indian Muslims are being subjected to all sorts of discrimination and high-handedness.
They are not allowed to perform their religious rituals, whilst they are also faced with the risk of genocide under the Modi regime. Several international experts have issued warnings in this regard.
It is not the Muslims alone, but the Christians in India are also facing existential threat because of Hindutva ideology. The rising violence in Manipur should be an eye-opener for all, as over one hundred Christians have been killed there while scores of buildings, including Churches, have also been demolished in recent one month or so.
The Christians are also being forced to leave their businesses and homes. Then, the way Sikhs and Dalits are being maltreated in India is also no longer a secret. All this is only fuelling separatist movements there, with the most vocal being Sikhs, who are conducting referendums in various parts of the world for the establishment of Khalistan.
It will not be wrong to say that the BJP leadership is playing with fire both within and outside its borders. The criminal silence on the Indian crimes will only embolden its leadership to continue with its heinous crimes against humanity. Whilst rising above political and economic expediency, the world needs to act and hold the BJP leadership accountable before it is too late.
