KANPUR, India: Yashasvi Jaiswal played a pivotal role in India’s seven-wicket win against Bangladesh in the second Test in Kanpur, scoring a vital 51 in a rain-affected match that lost over two days of play.
After bundling out Bangladesh for 146 on the final day, India chased down the target of 95, finishing at 98-3 in just 104 balls.
Skipper Rohit Sharma acknowledged the challenges posed by the weather, saying the team had to carefully strategize to move the game forward. Jaiswal, continuing his fine form, hit his second fifty of the match in just 43 balls, combining well with Virat Kohli in a 58-run partnership. Jaiswal was eventually dismissed by Taijul Islam, while Kohli remained unbeaten on 29, with Rishabh Pant hitting the winning boundary.

Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, and Jasprit Bumrah each took three wickets, helping India close out the match.
With the series win, India solidified their position atop the World Test Championship rankings. The teams now move on to a three-match T20 series, starting in Gwalior on Sunday.
