DAMBULLA: The final of ACC Women’s Asia Cup cricket tournament will be played between Sri Lanka and India at Dambulla on Sunday, July 28 at the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium. The match will commence at 2:30 PM local time.

In the semi-finals played on July 26, India delivered a commanding performance, defeating Bangladesh by ten wickets to secure their place in the final. Bangladesh, batting first, could only muster 80 runs for the loss of eight wickets.

In response, the Indian women’s team, led by their robust batting lineup, chased down the target without losing a single wicket, finishing at 83 runs. The standout performances from India’s top-order batswomen ensured a smooth passage to the final.

On the other side of the semi-final draw, Sri Lanka secured their place in the final with a nail-biting three-wicket victory over Pakistan. Pakistan set a competitive target, scoring 140 runs for the loss of four wickets, thanks to three solid partnerships that anchored their innings.

However, Sri Lanka, driven by the brilliant captaincy and batting prowess of Chamari Athapaththu, achieved the target with a score of 141 for seven in just 19.5 overs. Athapaththu’s unbeaten 61 off 36 balls was pivotal in guiding her team through the crucial chase.

Pakistan’s defeat marked the end of their campaign in the tournament.
