SRINAGAR: Prominent figures from the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) and various associated parties have strongly criticized the continued utilization of military and police forces to suppress the authentic calls for self-determination among the people.

The leaders have united in their stance against the persistent deployment of security personnel to quell the voices striving for their inherent right to self-determination.

Ghulam Muhammad Khan Sopori, a prominent leader within the APHC, along with Noor Muhammad Fayaz and the representatives of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu Kashmir, Jammu Kashmir National Front, Jammu and Kashmir Political Resistance Movement under the leadership of Jameel Ahmad, Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement led by Altaf Ahmed Butt, and the Jammu and Kashmir Pirpanchal Movement have each issued individual statements expressing their dismay. These leaders have collectively deplored the significant presence of nearly one million Indian occupation forces patrolling the streets and lanes of the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) region. They contend that this substantial military presence has not succeeded in obstructing the legitimate demand for self-determination, and they insist on a peaceful resolution to the Kashmir dispute in accordance with United Nations resolutions.

Amid their expressions of concern about the military and police encirclement in the Kashmir region, the leaders have underscored the unwavering public support for the genuine plea for a plebiscite and the restoration of freedom. Despite the erosion of fundamental rights, the leaders argue that the immense backing for these aspirations has posed a formidable challenge to the presence of the one million Indian forces, their affiliated agencies, and the proxy regime operating on the ground.

In a collective appeal to the international community, particularly the United Nations, the leaders have implored for a serious acknowledgement of the escalating human rights crisis and the widespread violations committed by Indian forces and the puppet regime throughout the occupied territory. They have urged the United Nations to play an active role in addressing the longstanding Kashmir dispute, in alignment with the resolutions of the United Nations Security Council, and to consider the hopes and wishes of the people residing in the region.
