ISLAMABAD: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference leadership on Wednesday reiterated its call for a total shutdown against the Modi regime’s ongoing eviction and demolition campaign in India’s illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and warned India against tampering with the territory’s demographic composition.
According to Kashmir Media Service, senior APHC leader and Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party Chairman Shabbir Ahmad Shah said in a message from New Delhi’s Tihar Jail that after stripping Jammu and Kashmir of its special status, the Modi regime is now hell-bent on snatching livelihoods from Kashmiris and depriving them of land and properties inherited from their fathers and forefathers.
Hight time for the IIOJK people
Shabbir Shah urged people to come forward in large numbers to thwart the RSS-influenced apartheid regime’s nefarious designs, saying it was high time for Kashmiris, regardless of political affiliation, to band together to oppose New Delhi’s move to settle non-Kashmiris in the territory.
According to the APHC leader, the land eviction campaign is a deep-rooted conspiracy aimed at diluting indigenous people’s distinct identities and reducing them to second-class citizens in their homeland. Backing the APHC’s call for a general strike tomorrow, the DFP chief urged the people to go on strike to express their displeasure with the move.
In a statement issued in Srinagar, another senior APHC leader and Insaf Party chairman, Ghulam Ahmed Gulzar, said the RSS-led regime is hell-bent on turning Jammu and Kashmir into another Palestine. — APP
