SRINAGAR: Ahead of the so-called Indian Republic Day on January 26, Indian forces have escalated their brutal siege, conducting extensive cordon and search operations as well as house raids in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

Security personnel have intensified their search operations and house raids in various areas, including Srinagar, Kupwara, Baramulla, Bandipora, Ganderbal, Budgam, Islamabad, Pulwama, Shopian, Kulgam, Ramban, Kishtwar, Rajouri, and Poonch districts, as reported by Kashmir Media Service (KMS).

Armed forces, including the Indian army, Central Reserve Police Force, and Special Operations Group, armed with advanced weapons and rocket launchers, have been deployed in these areas.

It’s noteworthy that the occupied territory has been under a military and police siege, and residents have been living in what can be described as an open prison, particularly since August 2019.
