KARACHI: An Indian passenger plane conducted an emergency medical landing at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport on Tuesday evening after a passenger suffered a heart attack during the flight.
According to local media reports, the Indian Passenger Airline, SpiceJet, was en route from Ahmedabad, India, to Dubai when the medical emergency occurred. The pilot of the aircraft promptly contacted the Karachi airport control tower, seeking permission for an emergency landing on humanitarian grounds.
The Air Traffic Control in Karachi swiftly granted the necessary landing permissions on humanitarian grounds. The SpiceJet aircraft successfully executed a medical landing at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport, touching down at 9:15 pm.
Upon landing, a medical team from the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority promptly attended to the Indian passenger in distress. Following thorough medical treatment, the health condition of the affected passenger showed improvement.
Both passengers and the airline staff expressed their gratitude to the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority team for their swift response and effective assistance during the medical emergency.
