Indian Persecution Can’t Suppress Voice of Kashmiris: Governor Punjab

LAHORE: Governor Punjab Muhammad Balighur Rehman has said that the brutal state persecution by the Indian rulers cannot stifle and suppress the voice for freedom of the people of Kashmir.

In a special message on the occasion of Yum-e-Eestehsal-e-Kashmir (Kashmir Exploitation Day) here on Friday, the governor said August 5, 2019, would be remembered as the darkest and blackest day in the history of Kashmir when India bluntly abolished the special status of Kashmir by usurping human rights through its illegal action.

“Persecution and violation of rights of Kashmiris in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) are condemnable,” he pointed out adding that India could not suppress the spirit of freedom of Kashmiris despite so brutal persecution.

Governor Punjab Hails Sacrifices of Kashmiris

The governor expressed that the people of Kashmir were constantly making sacrifices for the legitimate right of self-determination while India was continuously violating human rights in illegally Occupied Kashmir. He stressed upon the United Nations (UN) and the international community to take notice of the unending human rights violation in IIOJK.

Balighur Rehman asserted that Kashmiris should be given their right of self-determination according to the UN resolutions adding that a just and peaceful resolution of the Kashmir issue in the light of UN resolutions is very important for durable peace in the region.
